Who is Yoshitomo Nara?

Before his opening at Marianne Boesky Gallery, Yoshitimo Nara was arrested for drawing a smiley face on the wall of the First Avenue L-train stop at East Village subway, New York but the charge was eventually dropped. The graffiti was later being wiped clean. He had also drawn on the wall of Niagara Bar in the East Village but the owner didn't charge him and preserve the drawing .
